Session History

Session 12

Middle-aged, weatherbeaten woman at the Old Redwater Mill who appears to know her way around the river. A sentry summoned her by name during Vaela's ruse on the mill path. Was absent-mindedly (and expertly) repairing a section of mooring rope throughout the encounter. Gave orders to sentries: 'Kreel's going to hate this. Go show her the cot in the office,' then 'Ask him what he wants to do with that badger, too.' Offered Vaela a cot unconditionally first; the corral condition for Ledger came only after Vaela resisted a guard taking him. Unenthused but not overtly hostile — did not appear to want trouble. Skrit's Insight read her as genuine. Appears to be a mid-level authority figure at the mill, subordinate to Kreel.

Session 13

Session 13: Called 'Bertha' by the DM this session because he could not recall whether he had named her last session ('for sake of argument, we're going to call her Bertha') — confirmed same character as Session 12's Sela (same weatherbeaten woman in charge, still repairing rope). Stepped back out of the warehouse side door when the paddock guard reported the party had them surrounded; every guard deferred to her ('Miss Bertha, ma'am?'). Demanded Skrit's business, heard his declaration that the party had come to free every prisoner and shut the place down, and immediately noticed one of her guards had slipped away. Gave an exasperated 'I don't get paid enough for this shit' and retreated into the warehouse with her bodyguard. After Sanji and Tam appeared, she ordered every guard to disarm; after Skrit's natural-20 (35) persuasion she held out her wrists for 'the manacles of shame' and was manacled by Skrit — who has no key. Role updated to enemy. Captured at session end. Canonical name (Sela vs. Bertha) is unresolved — DM to settle. NOTE: role updated from unknown to enemy.

Session 14

Session 14: DM clarified naming at the table — Kreel calls her Sela; the crew call her 'Miss Bertha' ('Bertha Selah… I think that's her name'). Both names now considered valid. Was not affected by the brine fog. No dialogue captured this session. Left manacled in the warehouse when the party departed.
