Session 01 Lighthearted, chaotic, and comedic

The session opened with a record-scratch cold open narrated by Ledger the giant badger, who described the chaotic scene from his perspective: a food truck called the Greasy Spoon airborne over the cobblestones of Splinter's Bend, its mismatched crew in various states of crisis. The players then rewound the clock sixty seconds to reconstruct how the chaos began. Constable Barnaby Plum, a petty and well-connected town authority figure, had been harassing Skrit — a small kobold who stood out in the town — along with his goon squad. Sanji intervened by confronting the goons and goading Barnaby, while Wickett snuck behind him and dropped a cold fish down his armor. The combination of Sanji's bo staff distraction and the fish tumbling out of Barnaby's armor made it appear as though the Constable had given birth to a dead fish — to the delight of the gathered crowd. Enraged and humiliated, Barnaby began escalating, and Gorlog (Tiny) seized the moment by yeeting Sanji and Skrit into the Greasy Spoon and ordering Ledger to bolt. The party careened through the town streets in a skill-challenge getaway: Wickett rode Ledger to scatter a flock of dire geese blocking the road, Sanji used her whip to upend a tangerine cart and scatter rolling fruit under the hooves of mounted guards, Gorlog flung a failed batch of soup out the back (accidentally missing the road due to the dragged tangerine cart), and Skrit grabbed an unlabeled liquid from the wagon's stores — ingredient, stove fuel, or possibly both — coated his ball bearings in it and deployed them behind the wagon — inadvertently igniting a stretch of cobblestone in eerie green flames. The guards scattered, the gate was left unguarded, and Ledger barreled out of Splinter's Bend and into the King's Forest.
