Ledger

Giant badger who pulls the Greasy Spoon. Does not speak in-universe but understands Wickett specifically. Has his own mechanics for combat (can flatten under yoke for protection). Holds the party's recipe ledger book in his harness. Has a strong sense of direction and is used to hasty exits. Sardonic inner voice; considers the party idiots but is deeply loyal.

Session 02: Provided session cold-open and closing voiceover narration (player-facing only). Woke first when tracking hounds approached camp at pre-dawn, alerting Wickett. Visibly unimpressed by the morning's events and notably unhappy about the prospect of the hounds remaining near him. Received his standard morning ration while the dogs received artisan aged tuna — expressed visible displeasure at the discrepancy. Narration described him as still exhausted from the night.

Session 05: Voiced the cold-open narration again. Remained hitched to the Greasy Spoon throughout the encounter and performed his 'yo-kunker' behavior at combat start. Did not receive a back kick from the thug who scooted under the wagon.

Session 10: Delivered the session's cold-open narration from the market square, listing four things worth taking — the wagon in the square, the strongbox with the whistle, 'the big fish alone in her dark pool,' and himself — and warning of 'three rafts coming down quiet' (only two ultimately appeared). Was found half-free of his yoke when Sanji arrived; calmed by Sanji's animal handling and re-yoked. Shrugged off a full-sprint collision from Gorlog without moving, and exhaled sharply in apparent amusement when Sanji scolded Gorlog for it. The arsonists deliberately started at the far end of the market stalls, away from Ledger — DM confirmed they did not want to mess with the giant badger. Closed-narration tag: he had no idea what happened today and figures 'we'll find out next week.' Continuity flag: players debated whether Ledger had been unyoked from the Greasy Spoon wagon before being left in the market square — Anthony declared him 'Schrodinger's badger' and split the difference in-fiction: half-yoked.

Session 11: Spent the night parked in the mud. Delivered two narrations — the cold open and a closing monologue. Cold-open narration confirmed he smelled three rafts but only two arrived; the third went home sitting low in the water carrying someone it did not arrive with. Wickett checked on him after neglecting him all morning and gave him his own ration — Ledger seemed more put out than injured, but it landed. When asked how he felt about riding a raft, gave a shrug the party interpreted as 'we've done dumber shit' (possibly ambient from nearby Speak with Animals). Reluctantly boarded the rear raft with Gorlog and gripped the logs white-knuckled as Pickles pulled the party upriver.

Session 12: Delivered the cold open recap and closing monologue. Snapped to high alert when Sanji's ears pivoted upriver. Flinched when Sanji bolted into the treeline, suggesting he wanted to follow. Ignored Wickett's order to run back to the wagon (natural-1 persuasion, 6 total — 'he doesn't budge') and stayed with Vaela throughout. Visibly reacted when Vaela shifted from genuine emotion to performance mode — hung his head as if exhausted. Followed Vaela's cue and allowed himself to be led toward the mill corral. Closing narration included: 'I don't like him very much. I might bite him later,' and expressed hope that Pickles would be with them. Fire Marshal sash called out by name in the cold-open narration as snapping in the wind.

Session 13: Delivered the cold-open recap narration. Revealed unprompted that at the exact point where Pickles stopped moving, his own nose 'quit too' — the water there smells like nothing, 'the loudest smell there is' for an animal — and that he had told nobody this before. Also revealed that something big and sad was asleep standing up in the paddock with him, and that something warm and not yet born was also present, known only to him. Vaela slept beside him in the paddock and left a stuffed animal as her scent; he accepted it with a very odd look. When Vaela found the 'Handle Warm' crate, she called him over and he hauled the whole crate (egg still inside) out of the paddock — 'it's not that heavy.' He and Vaela grabbed their things and left the paddock before she set it ablaze. No Ledger outro voiceover this session; DM deferred it.

Session 14: Delivered the opening voiceover recapping Session 13, including that Vaela declared she would be the egg's mother and that Ledger hauled the egg crate out for her. Was paralyzed by the brine fog while pulling the crate; the party forgot him until last. Being giant-sized, required four doses of truffle oil to revive. Left the mill with the party and the egg crate.
