Harold
Session History
One of four Kingsguard stationed in Waymoot to protect the Royal Logging Guild's harvest and ensure accurate reporting to the Crown. Assigned to Waymoot as punishment for illegal gambling (fixing games). Has a wife and three kids in Waterdeep and wants to go home. Dislikes Silas but prefers not to get involved in local drama. Expressed openness to pursuing a formal case against Silas if sufficient evidence were brought to him, noting it might be enough to get him reassigned back to Waterdeep. Was receptive to Gorlog and Wickett's approach on the logging road. Note: players uncertain whether Harold has any prior connection to Splinter's Bend.
Session 05: Arrived at the road ambush site with approximately a dozen loggers after hearing the commotion. Shouted 'What the shit?' and advanced toward the group. Did not intervene in combat. His reaction to the full situation — Silas's men dead, the party fighting a government auditor — remains unresolved. Wicket named Silas Vance to Harold directly at the scene, implicating Silas.
Session 06: Role updated to ally. Revealed backstory: Kingsguard stationed in Waymoot after being suspected of illegal gambling in Waterdeep but never convicted; has a wife and three children in Waterdeep he hopes to return to. Ordered everyone to stand down upon arrival. Attempted to disarm Pendergast (failed). Stats noted: +7 insight, +3 to hit; persuasion of the loggers rolled only a 3. Reviewed Silas's ledger and recognized names including Silas Vance, Constable Barnaby Plum, Elder Vance, and possibly Pendergast. Swore on his oath of service to investigate and punish all guilty parties. Stamped the Greasy Spoon's writ of provisioning, upgrading it to grant free passage on the King's Road. Provided the party with a letter of introduction to the head of the Kingsguard at Thornwall Fords. Offered to show the party how to field-dress the ankheg carapace for wagon armor. Stated he does not fear for his safety and is not the only Kingsguard in Waymoot. Briefed Foreman Kaelin on the events. Departed toward Waymoot with Pendergast and the loggers to begin the investigation.
