Starwater River / Gravel Beds

The river crossing at Thornwall Fords. Main channel is 8–10 feet deep (Strength check required to swim; failure means being swept upriver). The gravel beds are a shallow, difficult-terrain area between the barge landing and the far bank. The plesiosaur had taken up residence in the gravel beds. Site of the Session 07 combat encounter. The brass whistle used to control the plesiosaur was briefly lost in the shallow water here before Sanji recovered it.

Session 08: Plesiosaur coaxed 100 yards downstream to a deep pool south of the Thornwall Fords crossing. Old Redwater Mill identified in market gossip overheard by Wicket as a Vance supply waypoint — 'everything the Vances move on this river sleeps a night at the old Redwater Mill.'

Session 09: Ledger's closing narration noted the river had gone quiet again — too quiet — mirroring the language used before the plesiosaur first appeared. The plesiosaur is alone in her pool outside the town walls.
